Welcome to the South East Essex RSPB

Some of our special birds! The South East Essex Local Group supports the RSPB in carrying out the Society¡¯s objectives in the Thames Estuary area. Those objectives include: promoting the conservation of wild birds and their habitats, informing and involving the RSPB's members in conservation issues, developing policies and practical actions to protect important wildlife habitats and working with central and local government to create and implement solutions to conservation problems.

On our website you will find lots of information on caring for wild birds and watching birds. Our latest sightings page is updated regularly and has details of birds that have been reported to us by visitors to our website, we are always very pleased to hear of any bird sightings and they will be gratefully received. During our season, which runs from May through to September, we have many events such as indoor lectures, field walks and coach trips that you would be more than welcome to join - take a look at our calendar of events page for details of all of these and more.

We have a very active, lively and friendly local group and we are always looking to recruit new members and would welcome anyone wishing to join us. Please contact us to find out how you can get involved and how to help us raise funds to contribute directly to projects undertaken by the RSPB so that we can support our local and national wildlife and protect our green spaces.
